It's the little things that matter most. If you prioritize sleep and movement while omitting most of the added sugar in your life, there is no way your body wouldn't respond positively.

Even if you feel okay on 5 or 6 hours of sleep, aim for 7 to 8 to get the max benefits of human growth hormone for healthier fat metabolism, muscle development and insulin regulation.

Exercise is challenging because we have to WANT to do it; it's a voluntary act. That said, all if takes is 20 or 30 minutes of just walking to start feeling the benefits.

Cutting out added sugars is probably one of the best things you can do for your body on so many levels. Sugar throws off your blood sugar levels, increases insulin, increases cortisol, throws off the balance of estrogen and progesterone - and generally wreaks havoc on your body on a cellular level. Women should aim for no more than 24 grams of added sugars a day and men, no more than 36 grams of added sugars.

I’m out! Well, in a couple of days. 🇮🇪 I entirely plan on enjoying myself while I’m gone but I want to start vacation off on the right foot. I don’t know about you, but travel throws me off - especially traveling over time zones.

These are my go-to foods. Actually, one great supplement, three foods and a protein powder!

I didn’t include water on this list, but it kinda goes without saying.

Healthy doesn't come in one size. Healthy also likes to indulge once in a while. And getting healthy isn't always a walk in the park filled with laughter. Sometimes things can be too black and white, good or bad, all or nothing. If we don't weigh xx pounds, it's a failure. If we eat a chip when we tell ourselves we shouldn't, we're not eating healthy. If we don't project joy on the outside, we're not filled on the inside. It's good to have high standards, but it's also good to be flexible with yourself.

What happens to body fat when you start working out? Does it turn into muscle? And what about muscle...can that turn into fat if you stop exercising?⁣

*I really want to get rid of belly fat, so I want to work my abs.*⁣
⁣
Even though doing ab work is great, and along with a balanced workout and healthy diet, you’ll lose the belly fat, ab exercising won’t shed belly fat. Your abs will get stronger though! If you have belly fat to lose, those abs are going to shine through by eating the right foods and getting a reasonable amount of exercise. ⁣

*If I go on vacation, will my muscle turn to fat?*⁣
⁣
No, it will not. Muscle tissue can shrink, which is something called atrophy. It can also grow, something called hypertrophy. If you go away on a weeklong vacation and stay active - even by walking - you’ll be just fine. Extended “vacations” from exercise can result in increased body fat and decreased muscle mass, but your muscle won’t actually turn into fat. ⁣

*I want to turn this fat into muscle!* You can manifest a lot of things, but transforming one tissue into another is not one of them. What you CAN do is exercise daily (or at least 5 days a week), eat healthy foods and your body will take care of the rest. You want to strike the balance in your body where you decrease the size of fat cells and increase the size of your muscle tissue. This has the added benefit of boosting your metabolism! ⁣

Have you ever eaten something and felt bloated an hour later? You jog your memory and can’t think of anything unhealthy that could have caused you to feel this way. ⁣

Each and every one of us can be intolerant to some of the healthiest foods out there. Avocados, apples, almonds, garlic, coconut, beans...really ANY food.⁣
⁣
If you can isolate it to just one food and the problem goes away when you avoid eating it, then your detective work has paid off. Avoid the food. Reintroduce it a couple of weeks later. If you have the same problem again, eliminate it entirely. ⁣
⁣
A big reason we don’t digest certain foods properly is because we lack the enzymes needed to break them down. Or those enzymes begin to diminish as we get older. ⁣
⁣
You can supplement with a digestive before you eat as a band aid fix, or you can just avoid the food(s) giving you a hard time. ⁣
⁣
**Keep in mind...intolerances related to enzymes are not allergies. And intolerances related to enzymes can usually be isolated to one food or one ingredient. If you suspect an allergy OR if you feel bloated or gassy after every time you eat - regardless of what the food is - you need to see a medical practitioner. Not all GI problems are related to enzymes. There could be something else happening inside your body that needs attention. ⁣

The ingredients in packaged foods don't differ so much from the spectrum of ingredients in a person sometimes! You'll never be let down if you focus on the quiet confidence of real food.

We have relationships with everything - and you always deserve the best. Don't skimp, take short cuts, cheat or fall for the allure of something just because it comes in a bright, shiny package. All the bells and whistles on the outside usually represent overcompensation for something that's not there, anyway.
