One of the most important things you can do for your health is to eat healthy. But what does that really mean? Eat more vegetables and don’t eat any junk food? Or is it something more personalized - what your body needs, exactly.
The path to weight loss and health isn’t always quite so simple. But I make it much easier to understand.
Weight Loss Coach: Traci D Mitchell
My name is Traci D Mitchell. I’m an author, nutrition expert and weight loss coach. I wrote the book, The Belly Burn Plan, to help people lose weight through balancing hormones and managing inflammation.
My private practice is 100% devoted to helping people through weight loss coaching one-on-one. I work with people from all over the world helping them feel and look great.
No two clients are alike. Everyone has a different story. They’re men and women, all different ages, from all walks of life. Some are in perfect health but want to lose some weight, while others have different health concerns and want to focus in on the foods they eat to improve how they feel.
The bottom line is: if simply eating healthier was the fast track to losing weight, everyone reading this would be fitting into their favorite pair of jeans while walking around feeling confident and in control.
Unfortunately, obesity and disease are on the rise.
Information on fad diets and diet foods have blurred what it really means to eat healthy. It’s not necessarily about eating low fat, or avoiding carbs or eating high fat.
Your body is unique, and the foods you should eat should not be the product of some cookie-cutter diet.
A few ways I can help you with weight loss coaching or just feeling better:
- Read through my articles on this blog. There is a wealth of information that can help you get started.
- Pick up The Belly Burn Plan to understand how the foods you should be eating might be completely different from what you’ve always thought.
- Work with me one-on-one. I work with clients via video chat or phone. You can start by filling out this interest form.
I want you to be at you best. Start today!

How Your Hormones Cause Belly Fat (and what you can do about it)
Your body has dozens of hormones doing a lot of work in your body 24 hours a day. Many of the functions of your hormones are automatic and help your body function properly. All of our hormones, however, are receptive to input we give our body. Hormones that cause...
How Can You Fix a Broken Metabolism?
“Metabolism” is a word that gets thrown around a lot in the context of weight loss. We think we have a fast metabolism if we lose weight quickly or can sit down and eat a pint of ice cream without putting a dent on the scale. We think we have a slow metabolism if we...

Why Don’t Your Healthy Habits Always Work?
We all have habits. Some bad, some good, and probably plenty we could improve upon. Most of my clients and the people I talk to are keenly aware of good habits versus bad habits. I'm sure you are, too. We all know that smoking and not exercising are bad habits. Most...
Does Exercise Really Help You Lose Weight?
If you want to lose weight, you better get exercising! At least, that's what we've always been told. There is no doubt that the connection between exercise and health is strong, however, the notion that exercise is a panacea for weight loss is a bit overreached. Don't...
Why Do Women Gain Weight Through Menopause and Midlife?
Every woman knows that at some point in her life, the transition of menopause will begin. For most women, this happens as early as 40 and for others, mid-50s. While menopause marks the end of a woman's reproductive life, it begins a new chapter, too! I'll get to that...

3 Healthy Ways to Reduce Visceral (Belly) Fat
I always tell people that, unlike other types of fat on your body, visceral fat does not want to be there. Also unlike other forms of fat on your body, there is no healthy amount of visceral fat to hold on to. It's important to have some body fat, but visceral fat has...
How Gut Health Affects Weight Gain and Fat Storage
Your gut is arguably the most important part of your body and the linchpin to long-term health and weight management. Don’t get me wrong, we wouldn’t survive for even a second without our other vital organs, but in terms of your health, everything starts in the gut....
Make Weight Loss Over 40 Easy for Your Body
One of the most common things I hear from my female clients is that they believe they can't lose weight because they're over a certain age. It's not uncommon for women who are 30 to chalk body fat up to their age, or for women over 35 to associate extra body fat with...
Controllable vs Uncontrollable Health Goals: Where is Your Focus?
When I work with my clients, we always set health goals. Some are "micro" goals that can be achieved week-by-week, and some are "macro" goals that might take longer to reach. They're really important because the health goals create focus and a road map of where my...

More often than not, when someone dedicates themself to a goal or resolution, especially around the New Year, it revolves around weight loss, sugar addiction or exercise. "I will lose weight this year," or "I am going to cut down on sugary foods," or "I will start...
Inflammatory Foods to Avoid to Keep Your Weight In Check
I've written a lot about the connection between inflammation and weight gain. The two generally go hand-in-hand. Given that everything we learn about weight gain has more to do with calories and a lack of exercise, it's harder to make the connection between the...

Define Your Body Type: Apple, Pear, Hourglass or Inverted Pyramid Shape
